1. Keep a separate record sheet for each breeding season for each stallion used for breeding purposes.

2. The report must be on file in the office of the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada, post marked on or before November 30 of the breeding year.

(a) A filing fee of $21.40 plus $3/mare (members) or $42.80 plus $5/mare (non-members) must accompany each stallion's report which is post marked on of before November 30 of the breeding year.

3. Ask to see the registration certificate of each mare bred. This will assist you in preparation of this report.

4. Be sure that the last recorded owner of the mare is the person who contracts the breeding to this stallion.

5. Give exact date(s) bred - if more than one service is given to a mare, be sure to show the different dates.

6. Keep a copy of this report for your files and future use. Send the original to the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada.

7. Recorded stallions or mares, CPO or Characteristic registered stallions or mares, registered Quarter Horses or registered Thoroughbreds must be bred to Regular registered Appaloosas (registered Appaloosas with coat pattern).

8. Stallions siring foals born in 1996 and later must be blood typed before their offspring may be registered. The sire of foals born prior to 1996 may require blood-typing. Contact the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada for blood kits and further details. DNA also accepted, and subject to same requirements as blood-typing.

9. If artificial insemination and/or semen transport is used, the stallion's blood type report must be on file with the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada.

10. If the stallion is registered with an Approved Breed Association, a stallion report must be filed with the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada. A photocopy of both sides of the stallion's registration certificate showing the current ownership must also be filed with the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada. If an Appaloosa stallion is breeding mares registered with an Approved Breed Association, a photocopy of both sides of the mare's registration certificate(s) must also be filed with the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada.

11) If a mare is exposed to two or more stallions in less than 45 days, a blood test of the stallions, mare and the resulting foal will be required before the resulting foal can be registered, with the owners paying for the cost of the blood testing.
