The Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada is proud to be recognized by the Government of Canada through incorporation under the Animal Pedigree Act. Incorporation means the ApHCC has met requirements for establishment of rules of procedure, membership, public representation of Appaloosa horses, definition of purebred, and more. In accordance with the Animal Pedigree Act, the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada is the only association in Canada that may establish a definition of purebred, maintain a public registry and issue certificates in respect of the Appaloosa breed. This allows the ApHCC to present a public image of the breed, which is consistent throughout Canada. Numerous other benefits are available through the Animal Pedigree Act, one being recognition by many overseas countries. For example, the European Union recognizes breed associations incorporated under the Animal Pedigree Act of Canada.
